Bachelor training
At the VU we participate in major bachelor curriculi, including the Biomedical Sciences, the Biology, the Biological Psychology and the Health and Life Sciences. For Biomedical Sciences in FALW we have developed a specific ‘Neurosciences track’, which is under coördination of Hylke Vervaeke, coördinator of Neuroscience and Education. Also in the Faculty of Psychology en Education, a specific ‘Behavioral Genetics track’ is offered to bachelor students, which is under coördination of Dorret Boomsma.
In addition to Neuroscience education, we are actively involved in Genetics and Genomics training in the Biomedical Sciences in FALW. Notably we teach the courses Medical Genomics (supervisor Matthijs Verhage) and the specialization course Human Genetics (supervisor Peter Heutink).
At the VUmc, for those excellent medical students involved in the honours programs, we are developing translational programs to built new bridges between medical and research training.
In the faculty of Exact Sciences, training in the field of Medical Natural Sciences is considered to be an excellent training when you want to study Neurosciences during your master degree.
