We focus on the biological mechanisms underlying common mental health and neurological brain diseases, applying the latest technology and thereby providing new perspectives on therapy. Finding the 'cause' of brain diseases, design its 'cure' and implement this to the level of 'patient care' are all in the center of our research ambition.

Of our 400 researchers and technicians 25% are from abroad. In addition, we have nearly 150 research students, fellows and visiting researchers. Our research covers basic to applied neuroscience. Also, we foster good relationships with many domestic and international universities and institutions.

Our campus is very keen on valorization-initiatives. The Neuroscience Campus Amsterdam is strong on knowledge innovation. In the context of our Support Facilities we apply strong innovative as well as high throughput screenings. In particular, we supply a number of services including genotyping and sequencing, cellomics, proteomics and gene expression.
